School is out and city, small town, and home swimming pools are getting plenty of use by our children. This is a sport most kids love to do and swimming is a great way for our children to get plenty of healthy exercise and have fun at the same time. For older children you might want to sign them up for a water aerobics class for addition health benefits. I learned to swim at a young age and every day I could I went to the city swimming pool during summer break. I enrolled my daughters in swimming class just as soon as they were old enough and my oldest daughter went on to earn her life guard certificate and worked at our city pool as a life guard for three years during summer break while she was in high school. This was a great learning experience for her. She learned responsibility, life saving skills, and so much more. Older people can gain many health benefits swimming and doing water aerobics. Swimming is the perfect way to strengthen and tone your body without putting the same strain on your muscles as weight lifting does.
